“A Fantastic Value”
My wife and I stayed at the Athenee for 3 nights as the first leg of a vacation to France and other parts of Europe. We will keep it short and sweet as there is very little to be said about the Athenee and it is excellent.
The Athenee has a fantastic location adjacent to the Opera House, which is easy walking range to the Louvre and other destinations of note. The staff is exceedingly friendly (especially for Paris), and the hotel itself and the rooms, including the bathrooms, are updated, well-kept and exceedingly clean. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge and the bed was rather comfortable.
The room, of course, is an utter shoe box. We don’t mean this as a slight, but rather it is expected when you pay this little to stay in this nice of a hotel in the heart of Paris. The size of the room, of course, hardly matters when you are out all day taking in all this marvelous city has to offer. For active people out in Paris (assuming there are no more than 2 of you), it would simply be foolish to pay standard Paris hotel prices when the Athenee does the job at half cost.

While traveling alone to Paris I found this boutique hotel and decided to book a 3 night stay. The staff alone made my trip. Helping me book trips to London and Giverny as well as helping me find my way around the city. The ambience of the hotel was fantastic and perfect for this solo traveler as well as having a great location. Thanks again to the amazing staff at Hotel Athénéé.

“As expected quality.”
We travel to Paris for business on an annual basis. We have stayed at the Hotel Athenee before. In certain cases such as this trip we do not have time to investigate other hotels due to time constraints. When in this state we rely on previous experiences to ease our scheduling. We were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Athenee. As before the atmosphere was perfect the service was spot on and our rooms were comfortable. Our stay was in two parts the first consisted of the Superior room and the second was the Deluxe room. Both rooms were comfortable, but the Deluxe room consisted of more space which was more preferable. If you are looking for ease in your trip and wish to depend on the hotel staff to assist you in finding restaurants or other activities then the staff at the Hotel Athenee is very professional and can be depended on for all reasonable requests. As for the location you could not ask for a better place as a launching point for viewing the sites in Paris and wonderful restaurants which are indeed very close.
As long as they maintain the high quality that is expected from this type of hotel we will not hesitate to stay again at the Hotel Athenee.

“Intimate charm, convenient location and exceptional value.”
A wonderfully charming hotel for a quiet getaway by oneself or in couple. The staff is more than eager to please. Breakfast repas exceeded expectations with a delicious, high quality assortment of fish, meat and cheeses, fruit, breakfast granolas, yogurt, juices and sweets. Teas from Mariage Freres. Cappuccino, Chocolat chaud to accompany warm croissant or pain au chocolatat. The hotel also provides an excellent selection of wines. Decorated with comfortable elegance in mind. Only steps from La Madeleine, L’opera or fine shopping. A definite must if you are visiting Paris on business or for pure pleasure.

This is actually my 2nd visit to this absolutely incredibly charming hotel. As usual, the staff was accommodating, the location was perfect for my work as I was auditioning for a film. Hotel Athenee is very versatile because I can have a stay with a loved one and share a romantic moment or I can fulfill my needs for a business trip. You can always find peace and quiet when sending emails in the lounge, and the red ambience is soothing on the eyes. Looking forward to my third stay!

“Great boutique hotel in fantastic location with terrific staff.”
I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff here couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. A big thank you to Guillaume and Manon for their excellent service. The decor is very romantic and unique. Just keep in mind that the rooms are quite small. If you have sizable luggage, consider booking a larger room. I look forward to booking here again the next time I stay in Paris. However, I’l be sure to pay extra for one of their larger rooms.

“Typical French/Parisian Hotel”
Great place for central Paris. The hotel was lovely, quirky and well appointed, staff very good multilingual. Don’t expect a fry up breakfast this is a French hotel not a chain. A few minutes walk from the Madeliene and the Opera. Lots of nice medium priced restaurants nearby.

“Great Boutique Hotel in a Great Location”
This boutique hotel tucked away on a quiet little street in Paris was an excellent place to lay our heads at night. To start, the location is fantastic. Placed very close to several shopping areas and attractions, most notably the Louvre, there were also several restaurants just a hop, skip and a jump away. We didn’t have to walk very far up the street in either direction to find a great place to eat for any meal of the day. And getting there from the airport couldn’t have been simpler. The Roissybus took us from the airport and dropped us off at the l’Opera, only a five minute walk from our front door. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Always very enthusiastic to offer help and advice about the city. Our room was very lovely and the beds were very comfortable. It’s important to understand that in a boutique hotel in the middle of Paris, you will be hard pressed to find what North Americans would consider a spacious room, and our room was no exception. During the day time, the huge windows will fill the room with natural light. However, at night, you may find the room a little dark as the lighting is minimal. Aside from the smaller living space, this hotel is well worth it.

“Very romantic Week end”
We are really welcome in the Athenee Hotel and feel home very quickly. 20 rooms only so should not give our feedback to hope we will have availabilities next time . Personal is very friendly and did everything for us. Very cosy and romantic atmosphere. Thanks to the Athenee team for this nice 4 nights…

“A little gem in the heart of Paris”
My second stay at this bijou establishment tucked away in the theatre district west of the Opera. The most friendly, helpful and attentive staff; small but perfectly formed, individually decorated rooms with subtle but distinctive opera themes. Easy garage parking across the street. Lovely breakfast, great croissants and the best hot chocolate in Paris. I have been there before by myself, this time I brought the family. Lovely.

“Personable retreat in the heart of Paris”
I spent 8 days on vacation at the Hotel Athenee in March of 2014. I had a wonderful experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel. The staff is friendly and accommodating and they all speak English fluently. The hotel is centrally located. Many sights, shopping and restaurants right around the corner. Beautiful design of the hotel and rooms. Intimate.

“Beautiful Parisian Hotel”
Absolutely wonderful little boutique hotel right near the Opera house and within walking distance of so many of the great attractions. The room itself was compact but wonderfully furnished and very comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with little hermes toiletries.
The staff were tremendously helpful looking after our every need, booking restaurants and helping us make the most of our trip. Breakfast great, small but good quality and good coffee.
Would definitely come back again.

“Boutique Opera experience”
Beautifully finished sumptiously designed with extremely engaging and helpful staff this hotel feels like a private gem well located for Opera and Madelene. Rooms plush, beds comfy, space limited so go for Deluxe room if you want it all. Breakfast pleasant but could be tweaked up to match rooms. Roissey bus easy catch to and from Airport CGD.

“Excellent hotel in great location”
Finding a good hotel in a good location with great service is not always easy in the Paris hotel jungle – but the Athenée provided all this and more. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and within walking distance of many great sights and shopping. I highly recommend this boutique hotel for a cosy stay. Great rain shower and nice soaps etc from Hermés. We had a front facing room (202) that was in tones of grey and beige and while some feel the rooms are a little dark this did not bother us – but it may be less well suited for business travellers if you need to work a lot in your room. We did not try the bar or breakfast; all suggestions for lunch and dinner places were spot on and tasty. We would stay again without hesitation.

I loved this superb true 20 room boutique hotel situated in the 9eme. The décor is superb, the service excellent, and the standards of the room excellent. A true Parisian small jem, with a true French atmosphere.

“Lovely, romantic, authentic french boutique!”
Hotel Athenee is a relatively small hotel over all but rooms were more then big enough for us, they were beautifully decorated, walls covered with a lovely textured material (never seen that before), extremely romantic and cozy. Bed was very comfortable and shower excellent.
Staff were more then helpful and polite, breakfast was simple but I gather french breakfast is.
We found the location was perfect for us and when traveling further afield or back to the station calling a taxi or printing and drawing us a map with directions was no hassle at all.
Overall I was very happy with our stay.

I have spent four nights in this hotel and I do not regret it at all! The lobby is very cosy, the staff is nice and helpfull, and the location is great! Just in front of the famous Olympia concert hall, you may even see some artists if you’re lucky.
My room was spacefull and clean.
I will stay here for sure next time I’m in Paris.

“A real boutique hotel in Paris”
We (my wife and myself) did stay in this hotel last December. Everything was perfect, the location and the hotel in itself. This is a really “boutique hotel”, managed by a young, but quite professional, staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a “Deluxe room” facing the “rue du Caumartin”. The bed was a really “king size”, and having in mind that we were in Paris we could say that the room was spacious enough. We heard that the standard ones are smaller. We had breakfast in-loco and it was quite nice. We definitely recommend this hotel.

“Perfect location, amazing staff, superb room!”
Husband & I stayed here(pre booked thru his company) 11/30-12/3 & 12/7-12/8. The room was quite small but had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. Nice bath & shower as well as toiletries. We had breakfast & coffee and the staff was always super accomodating and very helpful when we needed to call cabs, etc. The area felt super safe to walk around all hours of the day/night. Very close to malls, opera house, etc. I would highly recommend this hotel and one day hope to return!

My experience at the Hotel athenee was 5 stars. The service was quick, efficient and friendly and the design was charming and exotic. The bathrooms have great products, which is a big plus for me. The breakfast is healthy. Overall the hotel is well organized, but most importantly well staffed and luxurious. The area is excellent. My purpose was to experience paris to its fullest while being able to get away to a romantic quiet hotel with my wife.

I looked long and hard for a hotel in Paris, and the Hotel Athenee is what I had hoped for and more!
The room was amazing! The bed and bathroom were perfect, and the modernness and cleanliness of the room was all you could hope for. (pictures to follow), the location was brilliant and the staff were very friendly. On top of all of this, the price was very reasonable considering how nice the hotel was. It’s also very quiet at night which was much appreciated after numerous busy days sightseeing throughout the city!
I’d definitely stay here again, and it’ll be my number 1 hotel choice upon my return to Paris.
Also, being completely oblivious, the ‘roissybus’ runs direct from the Opera just around the corner from the hotel straight to the Charles de Gaulle airport and vice versa. So definitely take that into consideration when choosing airport transportation!

Excellent experience in Paris. Hotel designed by famous French designer and one of the most comfortable bed ever. Nice bathroom with Hermes products, perfect place after a long day of working. The bar and smoking room are pretty happening. Breakfast was good with healthy options, fruit was delicious. The hotel is well located for subways and also for walking around Saint Honoré. The service was cheerful, particularly Manon! We would definitely stay here again.

“I would stay, AND NEVER GO AWAY”
For my first visit in Paris with my lover, i looked for something unique, charming and luxurious at the same time according the best parisian savoir-faire
I couldn’t expect more.
I discovered a place full of charms situated in the best spot of Paris, wonderfully designed giving a hushed and elegant atmosphere.
The room carried the smell of sensuality : cleanliness, very comfortable bedding, large bed, beautiful bathroom with Hermes toiletries, sweet towels, nice sight on Paris haussmanian rooftops (so charming at night..) and what to say of the tasty full breakfast in room
I also met a lovely staff ready to do anything to make my trip perfect with an irreproachable service and nice tour tips provided
Sure, the only problem is that i couldn’t stay longer ^^
I definitely will be back real soon !!

“Lovely bijoux hotel J & D London”
Lovely small boutique hotel, good position, easy walk to river Seine and shopping districts. Beautifully decorated reception with charming bar area. Room clean but a little small which is not unusual for Paris but with everything you need. Very comfortable bed and no traffic noise. Delightful, helpful and courteous staff who were efficient and friendly. Breakfast good. It made a change to stay in a small individual hotel. We would stay again if we came to Paris.

My family and I had yet another wonderful experience at Hotel Athenee. This hotel has become our go-to place to stay in Paris. The location could not be better- central but not located in an overwhelmingly hectic street. The staff have been consistently pleasant and eager to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as they could- going the extra mile by making sure we could still have dinner in their marvellous lounge after the kitchen had closed, etc. The rooms are terrific- authentically Parisian yet not outdated. The beds are beyond comfortable and the details such as Hermes soaps, enough hangers and a personally written welcome note demonstrate the sense in which this hotel is run.

“Paris, oh Paris ! John&Patricia from London”
We walked into this hotel, that is not heavily advertised in the street, to be surprised and marvelled!! A late arrival well respected, personally introduced to this little gem’s facilities by multilingual courteous staff. At some point, I thought we would encounter Proust, Rodin, Monet, Ms Piaf or any of those celebrated faces of French culture surrounded by friends in this hotel’s parisian (and clean) bar, operatic environment. Room of high chic standard, with fine details in the bathroom, excellent water pressure, really comfortable bed. Location is fantastic: walking distance from main shopping areas, metro, restaurants ….The Opera at hand. As one gets used to expect ‘with reservation in certain Parisian sites’ this was most surprising: the photos published to advertise it are genuinely representative of its authentic marvelous rooms, lobby, etc. We were only sorry we didn’t have more time to stay longer, but we’ll be back. Highly recommended

We staid for 4 nights at Athenee Hotel and it was everything we needed. The location is absoulotlly perfect (2 min from Galerie Lafayette, 5 from place de madeleine – go to Fauchon!, 3 from the opera). The room was clean and well desgined and the space was good (notice that hotel rooms in paris are relatively small, we had the Deluxe room which was very good). Staff on the hotel were just amazing. very helpfull and nice, always greets with a smile. There’s a nice and very classi bar which you’ll enjoy having a drink. Don’t look farther, this is the place to stay in the center of paris.

Loved this hotel! Building was so special and our room was heavenly (the only complaint we had was that the room was dark, and my old eyes had difficulty going through my all black wardrobe in my suitcase Lounge for breakfast was nice, food was fresh. Location was perfect. Very old Paris. The staff, they were very helpful and always eager to help us find anything we were looking for! “Perfect small hotel in Paris centre”
I have stayed here end of September, mainly because it was just opposite to where our Paris office is situated, Beforehand I had asked for a quiet room at the top floor and that is what I exactly received. The room itself was not large, but the decoration made that up…wonderful!
The bed was very good and no noise from outside at all, which is a big plus when on business trip. However for leisure that is also an advantage. The decoration of the entire hotel looked very different then the other modern hotels and it has an atmosphere that I like. You feel comfortable and not awkward.
Breakfast is just enough, not too crazy, which frankly no one would need. Also the price is normal compared to other Paris hotels, almost 50% cheaper. It is very close to all the hotspots within Paris and most of them are easy to walk, so you don’t even have to go with public transportation. Staff is also wonderful and very accomodating.
Unfortunately the last time I was in Paris the hotel was fully booked, but the next time I will definitely check in again.

The ambiance is upscale and intimate with a sophisticated flare. The room was charmingly appointed and very comfortable. The staffs’ welcome was heartfelt; the service pleasant, showing every courtesy. A pampered experience. If you are looking for a little taste of Paris before you even leave your hotel, this is it. “A true oasis of Parisienne opulence.”
From the moment we arrived, walking into the Hotel Athenee was like walking into an oasis off the bustling Parisienne streets.
The staff were immediately warm and welcoming taking care of our every need.
We arrived a few hours before check in and were directed to a small brasserie for lunch, ‘Le Mondial’. We rolled back to the hotel three hours later (and a few grand cru Bordeaux’s later) to be shown to our plush albeit compact bijou of a room (Superior Double). Like all Paris hotel rooms, space was not in abundance, however the luxury fittings, Hermes toiletries and absolutely amazing bath and shower more than made up for it.
Indeed throughout the hotel the decor exuded luxury and opulence in a bohemian and a muted calm of a yesteryear Paris.
On our last night in Paris (my partner’s birthday), we really wanted seats at a show that was booked out far in advance, but despite this they were able to make a phone call and not only get tickets, but went all the way and arranged VIP tickets for us, concierge at its best!
Arriving back at 3am for cocktails to be served to us in the room was the cherry on the cake.
We will definitely return to this hotel in the future and would highly recommend this hotel to couples who are in Paris for a romantic break and want to experience a real feel Paris hotel.

“Ultimate little place in Paris”
My wife and I needed to find a room after we were unable to book a second night at Le Grand just up the road. I did a quick search and came across the Athenee. We frankly were not that worried about the accommodation since we were leaving for a week’s stay in Normandy and had plenty of appointments and lunch and dinner reservations to keep us busy. The website looked promising. I have to say that our stay was one of our favorite of the entire trip and we stayed at some beauties during the rest of the trip. It is small and super cute. It just oozes charm and is a truly “boutique” hotel. The lobby looks like the vestibule of the opera Garnier. Comfortable places to sit, gorgeous drapes and pillows with a very mood full lighting. Our room was super cute too, and as other travelers have noted, an absolute wonder of a shower. Hermes toiletries to boot. Loved the modern design accents throughout the room, coupled with the traditional “mansard” aspect of the original building, also loved the fabric lined walls, truly wanted to rip it off and take it home, I did not though! To sum up it , we want to go back and soon!!! A truly stunning place, Merci et a bientot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Best shower in Europe!!”
Seriously, I have many, many compliments: friendly & helpful staff, attractive rooms, VERY comfortable bed, nice closet space with drawers and excellent location, but the shower was the kicker for me. It was just one of those things that I have found to be sub-par in other hotels, but this one was much nicer. Hermes soaps and toiletries are lovely. The rooms are small, as typical in Europe, but the service is grand, and it is the service upon which European hotels are rated.
My only complaint is that it was too warm in the room (and the hotel in general), but they turned on the air conditioner as soon as they heard the complaint. It is in a lively area, with easy access to metro and train. GREAT SHOPPING AREA!! Lots of fine restaurants, cafes and even a Starbucks (I know, but after three days I needed a giant American coffee).

“Attention to detail”
Before we arrived we had many questions, the type of service we received was comparable to highly rated hotels. We arrived early and left our suitcases and explored the area with more great advice. They made our trip much easier to navigate in so many ways and all staff was friendly. Our room was very cute and intimate(small, but that is what they advertise) our room made us feel luxurious and enveloped in warmth. The breakfast was great, one afternoon I wanted mint tea which they did not have, what they did was made fresh tea out of mint leaves. I love this kind of customer service. The lobby is so cute, and the attention to detail in this quant hotel provides a great experience!
